Nearly lunchtime O clock

I don't know why people get so fixated with time? 12.03 is not an answer when I ask 'what's the time?'... So why do clocks tell me that. Clocks should say "Just after 12" or "nearly Five past 12", if we're being pernickety... Really, it should just say "nearly lunch time". But I know that already. Cause my tummy tells me so.
